Ludwig Joseph Dernoshek

Ludwig Joseph Dernoshek, age 79 of McMurray, PA formerly of Houston, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. Born on September 22, 1939, he was the son of the late Ludwig “Bill” and Rose Ellen Dernoshek. On June 1, 1963, he married his beloved wife of more than 50 years, Carolyn Cornell Dernoshek who survives. Dear father to Eric Dernoshek, Darci Dernoshek Scarff, and Ryan and his wife Kellie Dernoshek. Cherished grandfather of Jared and Hunter Dernoshek who were his hunting and fishing buddies and Savannah and Brooklyn Scarff who were his sunshine. Loving brother to Warren (Bernie) Dernoshek. He was preceded in death by his son Dr. Darrell J. Dernoshek who passed away on August 2, 2006. He was “Uncle Joe” to a niece (goddaughter)  and several nephews. Joe will also be missed by his adored grand-dogs Zoya, Essie and Cookie.

Joe was most passionate about hunting, the outdoors and spending time with his grandkids who were the loves of his life. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, traveling the world, photography and stamp collecting. Joe was a lifetime member of NRA, Safari Club International Pittsburgh Chapter and Canonsburg Sportsman’s Club. He attended Center Presbyterian Church and was a Mason.

Family and friends are welcome on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 2 PM – 8 PM at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 260-5546. A service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11 AM Center Presbyterian Church, 255 Center Church Road, McMurray, PA 15317. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Burial will follow at Oak Spring Cemetery with full military honors.

Condolences to Joe's family. I intended to come to the visitation and funeral but poor communication and weather interfered with my plans. I have good memories of the times Joe and I spent doing the things we enjoyed. Please keep in touch.
