James J. Tippmann

James J. Tippmann, 79, of Peters Township, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Born June 7, 1945, he was the son of the late Joseph and Kathryn Tippmann. James proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He was the beloved husband of Kathy Tippmann and loving father of Jamie Jirari and Brandon (Amber Vaughan) Tippmann. James was also a cherished stepfather to Kimberly (George) Eidel and Kelly (Troy) Smith. He was a dear brother to Maureen (Dennis) Huth and Janet (Jim) Mullaney. James was a devoted grandfather to Ola and Malec Jirari, David, and Ava Webb. He also leaves behind his beloved golden-doodle, Molly.

James was an active member and former officer of the McMurray VFW Post 764, where he had many friends and enjoyed volunteering his time. He loved hockey and was an avid Penguins and Steelers fan. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and took great pride in caring for his yard and garden.

Inurnment with military honors will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 1:30 pm. A procession to the cemetery will gather at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317 at 12:45 pm.

Family and friends will be received immediately following the service at the McMurray VFW Post 764, 460 Valley Brook Road, McMurray, PA 15317. There will be no viewing.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Washington County Humane Society in honor of J.J. https://www.washingtonpashelter.org/donate/

James J. Tippmann will be remembered fondly for his crafty sense of humor and unwavering love and commitment to his family and service to his country.
